They may not get scores that high NOW. But when I was a kid, California schools were the best in the nation, and people moved here from all over the country so their kids could attend. If my scores are high, then I atrribute most of it to the quality of that long-ago fact. (That and my addiction to reading, of course. But I learned to love reading in those very same schools.)

Dang, 97%. I know I missed that Catholic one - it's Mary, isn't it?

But a humungous WORD on California schools. And colleges and universities - anyone could attend even the best if you were motivated and worked hard enough. Plenty of scholarships for those who needed them.
