(no subject)

So I'm watching The Two Towers. (Yes, I'm engaged in an end-of-year LOTR marathon; more on that later.) I pause the film to go to the kitchen, and on the way back, I look at the screen, and suddenly, for no reason at all, I'm compelled to do this:

Honestly, I have no idea why what possessed me to do this. I haven't picked up a pencil to draw in at least a decade. But that's the Muse for you.

That is beautiful! And very good. Spontaneous art so often gives the most wonderful results. You are very talented! And you haven't picked up a pencil in years? I'm impressed. Please keep picking them up regularly from now on. :)

How beautiful. A Frodo next perhaps? :-)

If you haven't practiced/drawn/whatev in THAT amount of time, and can stil do this... it's either like riding a bike, or you have massive talent. I'll go with both, but more of the latter.
Awesome, blossom. :)

Dayum, woman! I am jealous as hell that you can just pick up a pencil and produce something like this after so long. (That's because I can't draw a decent stick figure to save my life. ;)) You've caught the motion and depth of character so beautifully, especially in his eyes. Your use of shadow and texture is lovely and brings him to life even more. It would be quite wonderful (if a bit awkward) to have him suddenly materialize off the page for a visit, as he seems to be thinking about doing in your drawing.

I add my hope to those already expressed that you will be thus inspired many, many times. Very nicely done!

Catherine

Wow! Wonderfully expressive! Thank you for showing us this. I love it when the muse takes over, although those occasions are lately rare for me. I also hope you have more inspired moments--I'd love to see more!

Happy New Year!

That is amazing. I so envy people who can draw--especially when they draw a person and it ends up looking like..."the person." And in addition, you have caught an interesting mood that is quite compelling. I hope your muse stays active--and do share with us. Thanks and HAPPY NEW YEAR.

Oooh, that's lovely! It has a soft, mysterious quality to it that captures the more ethereal side of Aragorn. Well done!
