Oh dear .... I recently had a similar experience watching the new Three Musketeers. Detail was amazing but everything was so brightly lit, I felt as if I'd been staring at the sun for nearly 2 hours. It's not good.

It was explained to me that this was the effect of the super-bright lighting used to film in 3D, ala Cameron.
