Never thought I'd say this, but there are some hot dwarves in that bunch.
And Martin is just perfectly adorable as Bilbo.

Oh, when I first saw the young one - Kili, I think - my jaw dropped. What a HONEY. But I figure dwarves have to be young before they get old and stodgy. Why shouldn't they be good-looking?

Indeed. Hellloooo.

And Thorin isn't bad either! Got to imagine they were throwing a bone to us fangirl types a little. No complaints on my part.

On Martin: oh, it's true, Arthur Dent kind of *is* Bilbo, isn't he? Quite a similar style of hero's journey, so to speak. And so endearing to the awkward geeks among us. :D

Oh YEAH, baby! First time I saw this slice of babe, I thought "Oh boy, bring on the L/K slash." You know, they run into each other in the halls of Rivendell, hate each other at first because hey, DWARVES ARE SCUM and ELVES ARE PANSIES. But then Leggie gets all confused about how a dwarf could be so hot, and Kili gets randy even though elves don't have beards, and off we go...

Ahahaha...yeah, it's totally going to get written. :D Ah, I've missed the thought processes of pervy Tolkien fandom. Got to warm up my slash muscles and get 'em ready.

Oh gods, you know all it will take will be 1 1/2 seconds where Legolas stares at Kili or vice versa, and whole epics will be written about them. It takes so little to fuel the slashy brain.

And YES, Bilbo! When they first started talking about this film, I thought of him. He was so perfect in Hitchhiker's Guide, where he spent the whole movie basically being confused and desperate, which is pretty much the state Bilbo's in through most of The Hobbit - who else could be so great in the role? I was so excited when I read that he'd been the first choice and they eventually managed to get him. It looks like they've managed to pull off the same casting magic here that they did with LOTR.

This is gonna be SO GREAT!!!
