At the moment, he's sitting on his back steps staring at the grass. The stuff in this next segment is all stuff he's been telling me for the past few days, but when the moment came to sit down and shape it, he clammed up. Very frustrating. I find as the motivations get more complex, the thing gets harder to write, especially since earlier parts have set up later sections of the story, so now I have to make sure it all fits together in a way that makes sense. So when they get testy or reticent, I can only wait for whatever will knock them loose so they'll talk to me again. Patience seems to serve me better than anything else with this story.

I need to go out to the store to pick up some meds, but when I get back, could I hit you up for a little brain-picking regarding the crossover idea? I think maybe having someone else to bat the ball around with might help me find the way into it.
