I'm minded of the idiot woman who visited her local zoo every day and formed a bond with one of the chimpanzees there. She'd smile and call and wave to him, and he would do the same back. Until one day he escaped, and the first thing he did was attack that woman. Why? Because for 20 years, she'd been displaying aggression at him. Smiles are not seen as friendly by apes, but as challenges - showing your teeth is big-time rude to them. So because she was too dumb to learn anything about the animal she was "bonding" with, she got attacked. It's really quite astounding how fucking stupid human beings can be just because they think they've got the upper hand, isn't it?
