This one jumped on me with vigor, kinda like a cat jumping on your head because it's decided you ought to wake up right now! As usual, though, it had me contemplating things that don't often come up in the slash hobbitfic I've read. It made me think about hobbits literally not being built for anal sex (so it's not a matter of won't but can't), and about how the physical affection that a lot of hobbitslashers see in the version of the Shire that we seem to be portraying would compensate in many ways for the more varied sexual experiences that men have.
