OK!

If you're reading this, then you have survived my f-list cut. (Don't you feel lucky? Don't you feel honored? You'd BETTER!) So hi and hello! Now, on to some news.

Sheesh. I can't believe I did THIS.

In case you don't realize, I can't pay for that. I really can't. At least, I can't pay for it now. It'll have to go in chunks, which the owner and seller have agreed to ahead of time. (Thank the gods for my excellent eBay rating, carefully nurtured over several years!)

But you know, I just had to bid on it. Because I've been wanting one of those for years now. It's the only thing Sideshow Weta has made that I've ached to have. I couldn't resist. *hangs her head*

However, I think I can swing it. If I tighten my belt real hard, and put off buying a few things, and work eBay hard as a seller over the next few weeks, I think I can swing it.

*is nervous*

Wow, that is gorgeous. I never paid much attention to the limited edition stuff, but that is a really pretty piece. Very detailed, very emotionally resonating. I've never been a collector of things like this, for a bunch of reasons (finances only one, the desire to limit the amount of things in my life probably just as important) but I can see why you'd want something so beautiful. It's very nice that the seller is allowing payments.

(What do you sell?)

It's beyond lovely. I got to have one in my house for a bit a couple of years ago, when I organized a campaign to buy one for an LJ friend. I totally fell in love with it, and knew I'd have to get one someday. And I totally know what you mean about owning things - I really shouldn't be cluttering up my life and house with more stuff!

But Sam and Bill...*sigh* There's no way I could pass it up.

What do you sell?

Published materials, mostly. Books, magazines, CDs, DVDs, videos, clippings, etc. The mags and clippings are celebrity and movie oriented.

Hi! Glad I'm still here. Oh, congratulations on winning that statue. I don't blame you a bit. It's wonderful.

[identity profile] serai1.livejournal.com 2006-09-19 02:16 am (UTC)(link)
It is totally lovable, and I am very squeeful about having one. Eventually. ;)

Hey, you won it! *cheers for you*

[identity profile] serai1.livejournal.com 2006-09-19 02:19 am (UTC)(link)
*grin*

Yep. It's the second time it's been put up at eBay. Actually, the second time that I know of; it might have been tried before that. I figured the owner would probably not go down any further in price, and because he was nice enough to agree to installments, I didn't try to jerk him around on the amount. Never look a gift horse in the mouth, as they say.

Oh it is a lovely lovely piece. You will not regret it! I'm so happy for you!

Squee!

LOL, I never regret buying beautiful things. I just regret spending the money on them!

Awwww, man! Sam and Bill. I am beyond jealous. If you ever decide to let it go (yeah, right), and I have a job at the time.... *yearns in vain*

[identity profile] serai1.livejournal.com 2006-09-19 02:40 am (UTC)(link)
Ha! I have let a lot of things go over the years (and usually regretted it), but I doubt this will ever be one of them. Not just because it's LOTR, but it's a gorgeous piece of art on its own merit. It's getting its own prominent place in my home, you bet. (If I can dig one out of the mountain of clutter!)

Post is public? At least it looks like it right now.

Huzzah for the right extravagances.

Oops. Thanks!

Didn't I say you should check? "Measure twice and cut once," my Gaffer always says.

I know, Sam. *is embarrassed* Please don't tell Frodo.

Life is too short not to have things we really, really, really want. Don't castigate yourself (speaks of queen of self-castigation). I'm glad you did this - it will bring you joy every time you look at it.

(And I am honored! *grins*

That's an amazing likeness on the statue!

Oh, well... It's worth it. Bill looks extremely pettable, and Sam... *guh* His face reminds me of the parting at the Gate of Moria.

Yay! I'm not Pluto!

Hi and Hello and 'it' is worth every dime.

((hugs))

I've been coveting that statue since I was part of the effort for our mutual LJ friend, and I can't believe how much it sells for now! Remember what we paid for it???

Wish I had bought one when they came out, 'cause I'll never own one now. But I'm so glad you got it! I like knowing that those statues are with people who really, truly love them. :-)
