I seem to be on a bit of a video kick lately - not a whole lot to say, but finding tons of stuff to link to. Yay for YouTube! There's so much amazing stuff on there - not just funny, but interesting, too. Old archival footage, bits from TV shows I remember from way back, odd and lovely artistic clips, etc. One could spend days sifting through all that.

So you'll be seeing more of these thing in my LJ. Just a heads-up, in case that kind of thing isn't your particular brand of vodka. But rest assured, I will only post clips that I think are really worth reccing. ;)

The Muppet Show was so great! There's a woman, er, pig, who wasn't afraid to go after what she wanted.

And I remember reading once that they encourage their guest stars to do whatever they wanted, to branch out from what made them famous. So I guess Rudolf Neureyev always wanted to sing while half naked?

(I remember the Mark Hamil show, where he did the requesite Star Wars spoof, but also did a song and dance number. I think I've got that one on tape somewhere.)

It's even funnier when you take into account the fact that Nureyev was gayer than a flowered bonnet.

I found a couple of other bits from this show, too, which I'll probably post tomorrow.
