serai: A kiss between Casey Connor and Zeke Tyler (GoodEnough)

Remember The New Twilight Zone, the series that ran from 1983 to 1985? It was the first update of the Rod Serling series, and it featured some exceptionally good storytelling, as well as wonderful work from top-flight writers, actors, and directors. (Harlan Ellison worked as creative consultant on the set, and to prove how good the show was, he was actually happy. For a whole year and a half.) It wasn't always brilliant, of course, but then neither was the original. But it was skewed enough to the gold to make the occasional dross inconsequential.

During its first two years, it was an hour-long show, and so the length of the actual stories would vary, from five minutes to fourty, depending on the piece. The short ones tended to be comedic, while the longer ones were drama, in that idiosyncratic genre that can only be called "Twilight Zone stories". (It's difficult to pinpoint just what holds them together, but you know one when you see one.)

I've had the whole series on my hard drive for some time now, and I thought I'd upload a few for you to see. If enough people seem to be having fun, I'll keep putting them up every now and then. This is, in my opinion, one of the best TV series I've watched, and it would be cool to turn more people on to the shows.

So to begin, this little gem, based on a short story by Joe Haldeman. Starring Sherman Hemsley (yes, Mr. Jefferson) and Ron Glass (of Barney Miller fame), playing a mathematics professor and his unexpected guest. It's one of my faves, and I hope you dig it as much as I do.
