I don't know how many of you read Glenn Greenwald's column, but he's one of the best political analysts I've read. Today he posted on a subject that will either shock you, enrage you, or make you sigh in weary recognition. (If you're like me, you'll experience all three of those while reading it.)

Well, at least there's one nutjob Repug with a hardon for tyranny running around prattling neocon jabber in plain words. I'll give him that - no hiding behind platitudes and buzzwords for him! I suppose it's advantageous to read this horrifying crap straight, no chaser.
But damn, it's sickening. This fuckwad, and all the other domineering, fascistic assholes like him, from Bush on down, is bent on - quite simply - dismantling America's system of government, in order to replace it with dictatorial rule. All those ninnies who run around making excuses for them are starting to eat their hats these days (what with the "war on terror" going so well, you know), and maybe if incontinent ghouls like this keep spouting this stuff, they'll end up destroying this cancerous outgrowth of our belief in freedom.
Isn't it interesting how a political system based on representation and consensus of the citizenry can be so easily highjacked to serve the political ambitions of a small group of power-hungry, leg-breaking thugs? But then, I'm sure the members of the Roman Senate would have had a number of stories they could tell about this kind of thing.
