This?
The Broship of the Rings
is making me giggle like mad. Hipster hobbits, cyberstalker Saruman and Boromir on the make.
Here's a taste:
( PO-TAY-TOES )
The rest are just as good. I love Arwen. And the Moria battle...genius.
Check it out.

About as hard as a two-minute egg

For some reason I don't understand, I've been seeing a lot of references lately to how hard it is to peel a hard-boiled egg. I know I've heard this complaint before, but several times in the last week? Some kind of cosmic strangeness around eggs is going on here.
And so, I present a mini-lecture on how to MAKE THIS PROBLEM GO AWAY. Seriously. Do what I tell you and you'll never curse over a stubbornly clinging bit of egg-skin again. It's really very easy and you'll bash your head on the desk over why no one told you this before.
The secret is...a needle. Take a plain sewing needle and hold it with your fingers, pressing the blunt end down on the counter, so the point is straight up in the air. Take your raw egg and with one quick downward motion, pierce the egg with the needle. Pull it off the needle, put it in water and cook it however long you usually do. When you crack that egg, the skin will peel right off with no effort at all.
Really. Trust me on this. Try it next time you cook an egg. You will dance a merry jig.
And tell everyone else you know. PLEASE.
