A new fad for the New Year!

seraiFrom my friend Badger, the storyteller, comes this description of the newest craze in the world of intoxicants:
There are these little grubworms, see. Kind of like silkworms. You raise them, feeding them on coca leaves. Once they get to a certain state of maturity (for the recognition of which I'm sure there's an emerging expertise), you place them one by one in a sturdy bottle, heating it gently until the grub explodes. Then you suck the resulting...uh...steam into your lungs. It's said to result in quite the rush. Kinda like natural crack, except really messy and gross.
Now, Badger's not sure whether this is grub-smoking that's done in Columbia, or whether it's the grubs themselves that are from Columbia, but either way - it's a wonder what humans will do to get off.
And somewhere in the Vasty Halls of Darkness, William Burroughs is muttering, "Well, I never really thought of that."
