Jeeps. Bad guys. Jungle. Artifacts. Explosions. Snakes. Dead languages. Marion Ravenwood. And gold. Lots and lots of gold.

Oh, Indy. Don't ever change. Ever.

Was that not just fabulous?! My mom and I went this morning to the 10am showing - 1/2 full - and everyone applauded at the end! WOOT!! \0/

TOTALLY. I am back in the Indy love, after so many years. I love his creaky aging ass. He is just the most awesome flavor in the 31 Flavors of Awesome.

And you know, it's so fucking great to see a big action fantasy that's so damn CHEERFUL. It gets tiring what with all these dark nihilistic doomy things. I mean, I'm looking forward to Dark Knight, but there's nothing like the great Indiana to kick your summer off right!

Man, good stuff!

He can still crack that whip, he can still pull off the action scenes, he can still snarl off a quip with the best of them, and he still hates snakes. What's not to love? And his Indy seems so wonderfully lived in, these days, if you know what I mean.

And what a great smile Marion still has. Indy was a ninnyhammer to let her go. Good thing the big galoot finally caught on.

He can, he can, and hell YES, he can. And yeah, he's wonderfully weathered. So great. I'm gettin' a mite tired of all these callow little boys running around on the screen bein' heroic. Gimme a guy who knows his shit because he's been at it for DECADES, yes ma'am!

Yo to the Marion love. After all those ditzy chickies, it is so grand to see her back again. She was the only who could match him, for my money.

I'm going to see this next week when I'm off work. I've heard lots of great things about it, and I'm looking forward to seeing it for myself.

He was. I adore the first one, but I thought the second was inferior. I've never seen the third one, can you believe it? Shall have to Netflix it.

Marion is DA QUEEEEEN.

She got the Evil Russian thing down very well. Looked like she had a hell of a good time. Who wouldn't in an Indy film?

Also, they showed the trailer for Get Smart. OMG, Steve Carell!! He so rocks. It looks like it'll be great fun. (Although the big budget FX kinda misses the point of how ricky-ticky CONTROL was.)

Missed it by THAT much!

*dies*

I still have to go and see it and, my oh my I'm soo looking forward!!

Indy and Marion back together???

YAYYYY!!!

This afternoon there was a "making of" on telly, and, gosh, the interaction between Harrison, Cate, Karen and Spielberg was a joy to behold!

*happy smile*

Everyone clearly had a blast making this movie, and it shows. It's such a CHEERFUL franchise, a real antidote to the doom and gloom you see in so many action films these days.

Yes, Marion is back! Still just as crusty and spunky as ever, matching quips with Indy. It's wonderful, you'll love it!

And today I saw Iron Man, which I also thoroughly enjoyed. Give me a superhero with a bit of a track record, yannowhatimean? (Sorry, Spidey. When it comes to superheroes, emo-kid is not my favorite flavor.)

It's just the best weekend for moviegoing. Now, let's see. What about tomorrow? *muses*

Yes, cheerful and FUN! That was the important ingredient - they were having a great time. Snappy dialogue for the win! And they didn't ignore the passage of time - I loved the little nods to dear ditzy Marcus [the late Denholm Elliot] and of course Prof. Jones Sr. And yay Marion! She IS the only gal that can give Indy a true run for his money. The audience reaction to her entrance was most excellent - applause and big laughs. Her smile is gold.

Yep, emo heroes can get a bit old - tho' I too am looking forward to DK. I Netflixed Spidey3 and *snore*. Iron Man was good - Robert Downey has a definite snarky mouth that works for me - plus he's a looker.
