Oo, I've been waiting for a really good, evocative Angsty Sam portrait. This is the best one I've seen so far, I think.

The original pic showed up on Variety.com. I cleaned it up some - stripped the text, smoothed and played with color, etc.



If you'd like to use the image, that's cool. I'd appreciate a GIP post and credit. :)

And I wonder where that Sam pic was supposed to be from, exactly -- a production still from a cut scene that we can hope for on the EE, or something that was posed? In any case, it's heartrending.

The original is a color photo, a closeup of Sam from beneath him. Behind him is a bright blue sky. It seemed to me to be an original film shot that would have had color and lighting adjustment done, had the used it in the finished film. It was clearly shot as part of the Mordor journey.
