Aaaaaand, just like that...

.

...he's lost me again.

My goodness! Of course, if he promises to be a good boy and not use that slingshot, we must put him in charge. How could we not trust him?

*whew* For about ten minutes there, I was part of a movement. Thank the gods I've recovered my cynicism. Just goes to show, no matter how charming the temptation, you gotta hang onto your skepticism. You never know when it might come in handy.

And it seems he is for Death Penalty, too...

Oh, great. Another vote between two evils. Just what I always wanted.

He's also lousy on the issue of corn ethanol, just to throw yet another fetid fly into the ointment.

Eh, I'm not gonna give up on him. Who KNOWS what's gonna happen... and anyone but McCain.

and anyone but McCain.

As an outraged commenter at Greenwald's blog said today, that's not good enough, not by a long way. "'Anyone but Bush'" was the rallying cry in 2004, and look how well that worked out." It's not about Obama being perfect (somewhat liberal would be a fucking start), but about giving people a reason to stick with him. If he keeps drifting over to the right, eventually a lot of people are going to give up in disgust, and the Repugs will be right back where they want to be. Not to mention the fact that these kinds of decisions are, oh I don't know, immoral maybe?

Yep. This just illustrates why I didn't like him in the first place. People kept going on about "change" and "hope". I don't see a lot of change in shit like this, and I certainly don't see any fucking hope. What's the point of electing somebody different if they just end up making the same fucked-up decisions?
