Okay, so I'm watching this TV special on the making of ST XI, and in a montage there's THIS SHOT:





Oh my gods, WHAT IS THAT? Who is that on the chaise - I'm assuming it's Amanda. But also - WHO IS THAT WITH HER?

Is it Spock? If it is, WHICH Spock? Or is it Sarek? But it doesn't look like Ben Cross, and it doesn't really look like Quinto, either. Perhaps it's just the resolution, but I'd swear that was Nimoy. Which is impossible!

That young, pregnant Amanda and young Sarek. that's why they cast a young actress, so they could age her up, but this scene was cut.

Ah, that makes sense! Thanks for explaining it. There's a whole sequence about Spock's birth in the book, so I guess this was part of it.

I LOVED Amanda's one scene with Spock. Actually got weepy at it the other day when I saw the film in theater again. Winona did so beautifully with just a couple of lines.
