I wouldn't feel right asking people for money for myself, though. It's not like I'm starving or anything, LOL. I'm trying to hit eBay hard this weekend. Perhaps I'll get enough money there to go. I've just put up an auction that would get me the money all by itself, if there's a fan out there insane enough to pay the kind of money I'm asking. (I know there are, as I used to be one - it's just a matter of finding 'em!) With luck, I'll be able to scrape it together. I just hope the tickets will still be there when I do!
I'm up for whenever you want to get together. Since the con starts Friday, probably that week would be best. I can ask for some time off, as my new supervisor is very cool about it, so long as I give enough notice (she said she'd only need a couple of weeks). Then, if I do end up going, we can hook up there after a couple of days of getting to know each other!
