Anybody who knows XP well out there?

I've got a question.

When I was using Windows 98, if there was a video or audio clip that I downloaded from the web and wanted to save, I could just go into the Windows section on my C: drive, go to Temporary Internet Files, find the file, copy it and paste it into any file of my choice on my hard drive. But now with XP, I find that isn't the case. I can't find where the computer is caching the temporary files. I tried searching, telling XP to look in hidden folders - nothing. I did find a folder called "Temporary Internet Files" but the damn thing is completely empty!

Does anyone know where those files would be going, or if this is even possible in XP? I wouldn't be surprised if it isn't. Fucking Microsoft never seem to know when to leave anything alone; they've always got to fuck with things that work just fine. *grrr*

Many thanks in advance to anyone who can answer this for me.

I for one have no intention of going any further with this. I'm not interested in running big games, or doing any other fancy footwork. The only reason I even switched to XP is there are a few programs I wanted that won't run on 98. But I've still got 98 on my hard drive in a second partition, and I go there now and then when XP turns up its nose at something I want to do.

By the by, have you noticed the irony in the emoticon meaning of XP?

Truthfull, no I hadn't...but now that you mention it, it DOES look odd. Maybe that's why Microsoft decided to go with a name instead of using acronyms this time around. They already have a code name for the successor to Windows Vista (which, with the current MS track record, will likely be out sometime in 2020). The new version will be code named Blackcomb. I just hope they don't shorten to Windows BC. That would be TOO funny.

Oh for cryin' out loud. They haven't got Vista out yet, and already they're making a new one? Why the hell don't they polish their OS's up completely before they go gadding off to make more of them? Christ, it's like the whole company has ADD or something.

You have expressed my thoughts exactly.
