The next step in turning LJ into a Facebook clone.

They don't want us here. We're too inconvenient. They want a pack of monkeys who'll just push buttons and then pony up money for the privilege.

I didn't even realize the Like button existed because I'm still using the old version of LJ, where the Heart button is for saving a post to memories. Another good reason not to change to the new version.

I don't see it either, for the same reason. I only know about it because I got a notification email.

I got that email, too, but I don't see a heart button at any of the LJs I've visited. I guess I must have an old version of LJ like ink_gypsy mentioned.

I see this addition solely as an attempt to imitate Facebook's Like button. If I wanted LJ to be more like FB, I'd go to FB. Sheesh!

I'm still using the old style, so I don't see it either. Until very recently, my profile page was old style, but now it's the new. That makes me think that they are eventually going to take away the choice for using the old style and that's what scares me.

I wasn't chuffed by this at all as it is just following the format herd. But I thought maybe it might tempt some folk who like those features back to LJ. But for myself I like the back and forth of actual comments. Bots can like.
