A note on something I should have mentioned before.

LJ has lots of little ins and outs that are very convenient to its users. There's one I want to comment on here.
It's convenient to use the commenting as a kind of substitute email function. You know, comment on a post and then delete the comment, so that the poster gets the comment in an email. Many people use this, either as a way to send a quick message or a way to shoot under the radar, as it were.
DON'T DO IT HERE.
As far as I'm concerned, that is chickenshit behavior. My email is listed on my userinfo page. This LJ is a paid account anyway, so if you can't find the addy, just send an email to serai1 aaat livejournal dawt com. But don't be using that underhanded comment-then-delete crap. Because I find it annoying and cowardly.
Either say what you want to say openly on my LJ or say it through email. You won't impress me by pulling this sort of subterfuge. Accidents are one thing, but if you can't find the courage of your convictions, you won't get anything like respect from me. And I'll just delete the LJ email and roll my eyes.
And take a moment to think before you post, eh?
ETA: As a PSA, I'd like to add that if anybody uses the comment-and-delete as a way to flame me over anything, I'll promptly post a screencap of the LJ notification email. Because you do not get to play that game in my yard. Capice?

Date: Friday, October 28th, 2005 06:40 pm (UTC)If this makes me a chicken, then so be it. I'm only human after all, OK? Had my share of shit with LJ people, and am not looking for more. Not with with you either. Yes, I should have thought before I posted.
I already sent you an email, btw. Should have done that right away, I guess.

Date: Friday, October 28th, 2005 07:12 pm (UTC)But I've decided that from now on, if anyone pulls that on me, I'm going to post screencaps of the LJ email. Because that kind of thing is not to be tolerated, in my book.
