Christ in a sidecar. How pathetic. But you know what gets me? That some people can come off sounding so intelligent and yet not have the brains to know when they're hobnobbing with...well, somebody not totally savory, shall we say.

I don't give a rat's ass about sock puppets, myself. Nobody on the net is ever fully who they seem to be, so why get bent out of shape about it? As far as I'm concerned, behavior is what counts. And when I look at the resultant kerfuffle over the last couple of weeks, it's pretty clear whose behavior merits credit, and whose doesn't. So don't think I'm gonna cry over anybody siding with such folks and defriending me. Cause I'm actually just laughing my ASS off.

I'm pretty sick of LJ these days, to be honest. Fandom as a whole has me fairly fed up. I got into this for the interesting LOTR discussions and fics; I didn't come looking for a lot of bitchy backstabbing and waaaaaaaahhhhh. Christ in a catsuit.

But on occasion it's an amusing break from the real world. Although even that is getting pretty amusing in itself, what with King George IV's reign imploding all around him.

Oh gods. You know there are days when I miss my time on TORn? Heeheehee.

I've been going through a re-introduction to Tolkien lately. All this fandom/slash stuff had me driftes way off course. But reading Shippey's book set me off on a binge, and I've bought about ten books in the last three weeks, and making my way happily through them. I'm discovering anew the enchantment of the books themselves, and how huge a world of thought and spirit and heart is in there. Way enough to fill years of attention, without having to add any of this insanity to it. LOTR started as a private pleasure for me, and I've had more than a few days when I wished I'd kept it that way and never looked for anything related on the net. I miss the Frodo and Sam that I knew from the books, and honestly? I think I like them more.

Who unfriended you? If I look here, there's no one. I did get unfriended, by the way, and so did LadySunrope. By someone who should know better. It's sad.

Wow, that list is completely inaccurate. All those people it says friended me in August have been on my list for a long time. And two of the LJs it says DEfriended me in August, were deleted at least a year ago! If that's the accuracy it displays, I wouldn't use it if I were you.

Well, the dates for the bulk of your friendlist are usually inaccurate (it would take too much space if they had to give all of them separately), but it does give a good impression of who's friended and unfriended you, and the more recent dates are always accurate. Well, in my experience.
