Could someone explain to me how one goes about putting up one of those locking posts that stay at the top of your journal? People use them to state their journals are friends-locked. That kind.
I think it would only appear on your friends list on the date that you have it set for, so if it's December 30, 2525 it will only appear on their friends list on that day. I love your icon.
As I understand it, if you are sure to check the "entry is backdated" box, it won't appear on your Friends lists at all because that box tells LJ it really should be future dated (or backdated) and you don't want it to appear at the time you actually made the entry, but in the future (or past).
As I found out to my chagrin when I completely misunderstood how this works, if you check the "entry is backdated" box, it never appears at all on your friends page, even on the day that says it's posted. (It's too long and tedious to explain my missteps in finding this out, but it was useful in the end. *facepalm*) Dating it far into the future and checking that box will ensure that the post stays at the top of one's journal page.
