Wow, that is so weird! I just finished re-reading that book last night. I adore Asimov -- he's got such a simple, direct style, yet he achieves poetry somehow within it, you know?

It's a wonderful book. I just got done listening to an audiobook of it. Lately I've become very fond of audiobooks, especially if the reader is a good one. Since my work is usually rather dull, listening to a book enlivens the day for me.

And oh yes, I Robot is wonderful. It just maddened me that that piece of SHITE that got released recently is all that most people will ever think of when they hear that title, because the book raises such interesting questions about ourselves and how we view the meaning and origins of life. And Harlan Ellison wrote such a lovely adaptation for the screen, too! *sigh* Now we'll never see that one done. *double sigh*

Well, I think old Isaac was being obtuse. It is something someone says to someone else when the someone else has overlooked something obvious to the someone speaking. The one saying it does indeed have a clear view of the someone else's schnozz and while the owner of the snout cannot easily see the actual member in question, they ought to know darn well if they have one!

Acutally, he was making a very good point about the inability of a person to see an aspect of his own opinion or belief even though it might be very obvious to someone else.
