And on the subject of Sean...

I just wanna ask one thing.

Has it occured to anybody that Sean probably accepted the offer to be in Click because HE thought the film would be funny?

Some people actually like slapstick, you know. Just sayin'.

It's certainly possible. He worked with Sandler in 50 First Dates, after all - so he knows what the man is like. On top of that, Sean has proven that he CAN do comedy roles (ie Encino Man).

I just don't see why one would leap to the conclusion that Sean is being wronged somehow. After all, he accepted the role; nobody made him do it. And since when has Sean worked on films he didn't believe in?

I think it all goes back to that Speedo. Some folks were likely feeling embarrassed for Sean at having to subject himself to wearing something that really isn't meant for someone with his stocky build. But, as you say, Sean accepted the role. He's been in the business long enough to know what he's comfortable with - and wearing a Speedo evidently doesn't bother him.

Heh. I thought he looked hot in that Speedo. Teddy bear! And was that just a touch of preening I detected in that grin on his face? I think it was.

And yeah. He's a big boy and can look out for himself.

There's definitely a big boy in the Speedo, yo.

I'd say so. Oh yeah! Who'd a thunk it?

I read an interview where he said he enjoyed doing comedy. And I like the pink Speedo.

I gotta think he does, or else he wouldn't do it. And the Speedo was yummy, in my opinion.

I sometimes think I'm the only one in the world who liked Sean in 50 First Dates! I think he did a marvelous job of taking an icky character and making him appealing in an appalling way, if you understand what I mean! And he wanted the role--did anyone see the audition tape he sent in on the DVD?

[identity profile] serai1.livejournal.com 2006-06-27 02:41 am (UTC)(link)
Thank you. It's not like he's starving or anything, and had to accept the role or his kids wouldn't eat! The way some people go on, you'd think Sandler was this horrid taskmaster who beat Sean senseless. The guy's perfectly capable of deciding which roles he'll play and which he won't. And methinks a lot of the kerfuffle has to do with the fact that Sandler's films are rather appalling and the humor pretty damn sophomoric. So a lot of Sean's fans decide that he MUST have been forced into it, because it couldn't possibly be that SEAN'S sense of humor is on that level. Oh no!!
