Actually, I think you're absolutely right. He's got a life and career apart from the LOTR thing, which has already been over for years. And how much of him do these people want, anyway? For gods sakes, most actors with his longevity and reputation wouldn't be caught dead at a con. They really should be happy he's given them as much as he has, and let it go at that.
