So, if I understand correctly, New Line is free to break off with PJ and go knocking on other directors' doors, but MGM wants to make the movie with PJ. And since they've got the distribution rights, unless New Line wants to send people out with film cans trying to sell the movie door-to-door, they're going to have to play ball with MGM.

Which puts us back where we started.
