Does "watching" a community mean you have it on your f-list without being a member? Or does it mean something else?

ETA: Thanks, everyone! That's what I thought, but I wanted to be sure. :)

It means you have the comm on your flist and can comment on posts in it, but you can't make original posts in the comm.

That's correct. Friends locked posts will remain invisible until you actually join the community.
