Pissed off

.

I'm about two inches away from dumping Firefox and never using it again.

It's been a great browser the last few years, but in the last couple of months, since they released the new updates, it's gotten really FUCKING buggy. About 25% of the time I can't load a page - have to keep clicking the link over and over again. I'm sick of doing this!

Also, the other day I was at my mom's house on her computer, and a new Firefix update came through - 2.0.0.11. But I haven't gotten the alert for this update. When I click "look for updates", it claims there aren't any. But I'm still at 2.0.0.9!

Because of the page-loading bullshit, I can't get onto the Firefox forum to ask anybody any questions!

I know Firefox is supposed to be better than IE, and it has been. But right now it's just as shitty as IE, and I'm pretty pissed off. I've never had this much trouble on the internet before.

.10 and .11 came through really close together, I think.

You could try uninstalling it and then reinstalling it, but that's a pain and you lose all your bookmarks and plug ins and stuff. (Unless you know how to export them, which I'm afraid I don't.)

It is working okay for me though.

I'm thinking about doing that. Trouble is, I did it before and it didn't help. But it couldn't hurt, I guess.

By the way, if you want to export your Firefox bookmarks, go to the Bookmarks menu and click "Organize Bookmarks". It'll open a new window. Look in the "File" menu, and you'll see "Import" and "Export". Click "Export" and you can save them as an .html file wherever you'd like, so you can re-import them or export to another browser. :)

1. Do you have a lot of plugins (now called "add-ons")? They can sssllllow down Firefox. Firefox has become a big memory hog over time, although it is still better than IE.

2. Opera. You might like it. I like the way their tabbed browsing works and there is also an integrated bittorrent client. :)

I've only got a few plugins - Adblock, Flashblock, a couple of others - so I don't think that's it. I have heard good things about Opera, so I might give it a try.

I've still got that bag of yarn! Email me your your address so I can drop it in the mail to you. :)
