He sure is. Makes me want to visit that zoo just so I can say hi.

It's comforting to know that at least some zoo animals take advantage of their situation to watch us.

This is one of Atlanta's young silverbacks. IIRC, all the current males in residence save two were born at the zoo and are beyond familiar with the nutjobs peering through the glass all the time. A couple of times a day, the keepers throw fruit and other treats off the roof just above this window, and all the gorillas come down to eat; if you happen to be hanging around the window, you're likely to have all sorts of interesting interactions with them (especially the adolescents, who come right up to the glass and stare out as though *they* are the ones seeing something amusing). I've also seen them take a whiz in the direction of the glass, which I imagine communicates something altogether less amiable. :-)
