So LJ has refurbished the Tags Management Page. this is a good thing, especially since they've now made it possible to remove tags from your list. (I've had a couple of misspelled tags hanging on there for at least a year!) It's more flexible, so great.

My question is: on the list of tags, there's a little arrow before each tag. What's it there for, and what does the coloring of the arrows mean? At first I thought it was for how many entries are tagged with that specific tag, but the FAQ says you're allowed up to 1000 entries for each tag, and the ones that have "full" arrows don't have even a tenth that many entries tagged with them.

So does anyone know what's up with those colors? The FAQ doesn't mention the coloring at all.

Interesting question. I think the coloring IS for the number of entries associated with each tag...if you sort by usage, the 'fuller' arrows appear at the top. I think the amount of coloring depends on the ratio of entries with a specific tag to the total entries in your journal that have been tagged...the 1000 entry limit is just the upper limit available.

Hm. Keeping your comment in mind, I looked at it again, and now I'm thinking that maybe it marks the percentage of the posts you've made and how they relate to each tag. Like "vids" and "lord of the rings" have fully colored arrows, and I know those two are attached to a large percentage of my entries, whereas most of the tags have little to no color in them.
