Stephen has put out the call:

Name the NASA Module after Stephen!


NASA is taking votes on the name for the new module on the International Space Station. Stephen has decided, and rightly so, that his name should be emblazoned thereon, so that his name shall live forever, or until the station's orbit devolves. Last night he exhorted us, his minions, to go out and win the battle.

Click on the above link to go to the NASA site. Near the bottom on the right, you'll see the voting form. Click "Submit your own" and write in "Colbert" and hit Vote!

As of this writing, Serenity (one of the NASA-supplied original names) has 86%, but Colbert is the top viewer-submitted name, so we're definitely in the running.

I'm just more into the traditional names. I mean, could you imagine calling Uranus 'George's Star'? Herschel fanboyed the hell out of the king, but even the suggestion that it be named after HIM was better, lol!

I went with the herd and voted for Serenity, though I almost chose Venture.

LOL! Wouldn't that be a hoot? I've put my vote in - though I'd be happy if Serenity got in too. Wonder who suggested it and if it was a Firefly fan? ;)
