Two for the price of one. Such a deal!
This here's an Elijah wallpaper I made some time ago, that I thought y'all would enjoy...

...but it's still damned appropriate, wouldn't you say?
My cherie amour, lovely as a summer day
My cherie amour, distant as the milky way
My cherie amour, pretty little one that I adore
You're the only one my heart beats for
How I wish that you were mine
In a cafe or sometimes on a crowded street
I've been near you, but you never noticed me
My cherie amour, won't you tell me how could you ignore
That behind that little smile I wore
How I wish that you were mine
Maybe someday, you'll see my face among the crowd
Maybe someday, I'll share your little distant cloud
Oh, cherie amour, pretty little one that I adore
You're the only one my heart beats for
How I wish that you were mine
*sigh*
Now that we've got our drooling for the day done with, an update on the Faire thing.
IT SUCKED.
Not the Faire itself - the Santa Barbara Faire is quite wonderful. Really nice, relaxed atmosphere, cool folks. Even Security were very friendly.
However, I completely overestimated my ability to do this shit anymore. By the third hour of hawking at the juggling booth (which I was quite enjoying), the heat hit me and I was down for the count, and useless pretty much the whole weekend. What a freaking bummer!! I did run into old friends, and nice mellow time, etc., but felt unable to perform or really get into the Faire thing, as every time I tried, I got dizzy and had to go lie down. Sunday, I only lasted in my costume for about 4 hours. Guess I'm jus' too old for thish anymore, Pa!
SPIKE, on the other hand, totally surprised me by taking to it like a fish to water. Old-timers were shocked to hear it was her first time ever working Faire, that's how much talent she displayed at it. Watching her playing the crowd cheered me muchly, and it helped make up for my own yucky experience. Jason and Phoenix (the folks running the booths we worked at) begged her to please come back next weekend, but nope. Husband and kid and gas money and all that - being broke sucks sometimes, you know?
But I'm terribly glad she had such a good time, and that I got to see it. 'Cause I really don't think I'll be doing it again. Oh, I'll go visit and even camp if I can get on the gate list, but working? Nope, that's done for me. Nice to get "closure" on it, though (gods, I hate that word).
Oh, did I say we were done drooling for the day?
My bad. Sorry!
