It's in Florida. You can swim or snorkel with the big guys. Apparently you have to make the effort to find a responsible tour guide that doesn't encourage touching or harassment, but it can be done.
Oh, neat. I've always wanted to meet one of the big sea creatures. An old boyfriend of mine told me a story of meeting a whale when he was diving off the coast near Malibu. The thing came up behind him and nearly scared the life out of him. It moved up until its eye was right near him and just looked at him. After a moment, Malcolm approached and touched it about a foot behind its eye. It didn't object, so he then started scratching the thick hide. And get this: he says the whale slowly closed its eyes and shuddered. He said he could actually feel it through the water as well as through its hide. He scratched it for a minute or two, until it opened its eyes and slowly moved away from him. He counted it as one of the prime experiences of his life.
Re: Cute Overload. I do visit occasionally, but very few of my pics are from there. I got this one at a photo gallery site.
I'm very glad you like these posts. Yes, it would be nice to hear from people, if only to let me know that the pics don't turn anyone off. My collection is pretty eclectic, so I never know if a pic is going to rub anyone the wrong way.
Your pics are fabulous! If you don't mind most of my comments being "wow, that's gorgeous" then I will try to comment more often. And they are definitely not a turn-off; in fact, they are a lovely surprise to find on my friends' page!
