Ecstasy


"Mmm...yes."

"Like that?"

"Ssss, ahh!" A soft hiss of pleasure. "yes..."

"Shall I...?"

"Oh no, wait...ah, yes...more."

"Yes, master..."

A gasp, his back arches. "Oh! Yes. Oh, harder!"

"Harder? Are you sure?"

"Yes, yes! Harder, please!" His voice is ragged, insisting.

Sam complies, "Whatever you say..."

Frodo tenses, eyes closed. "Oh, oh, Sam," he cries.

"Ah, that's it, isn't it? That's what you want?"

"Yes, yes. Oh, Sam! So good, oh! Oh!" His whole body tightens like a bowstring, suspended, then with a loud explosion of breath, releases. The pleasure tingles through him as he relaxes into warm, loving arms.

Sam laughs. "Liked that, did you?" He strokes Frodo's hair tenderly.

"Mmm, yes," he sighs. "Thank you, Sam."

"Don't mention it, Mr. Frodo," Sam answers. "I'm happy to scratch your back anytime."

...the end isn't as much of a surprise. That's the whole point - the left turn at the end catches the reader off guard. At least, that's the effect I was going for. Judging from the comments I've gotten elsewhere, it seemed to work! :D

WAIT! I take it back! There's all that groaning and moaning that Frodo is doing which is enough to 'distract' folks without the kiss!

Bwah ha haa! You're right, the left turn at the end is great -- though I agree that the bit with the kiss on the neck lessens the effect on the inevitable re-read. It makes it seem like an interaction between lovers that in this case just happened not to be actively sexual, rather than the "Naughty, naughty, you must have a dirty mind to be thinking they were doing that!" reaction you were probably trying to elicit.

I've always kissed friends, and my family are kissers as well, so I don't see a kiss as necessarily sexual, even between guys.

That's also why I've never accepted the kisses in the book as absolute proof of anyone being lovers - they occured at points when I would expect some physical affection, moments of great emotional intensity when it would be natural to touch another. Also, those who actually were having romances were far more formal, and almost never touched each other that Tolkien mentioned, so it made the kisses seem clearly nonsexual to me.

Just keep in mind, we wouldn't be slashers if we weren't dying to read sexual tension into anything we could... ;-D
