Gorgeous 1953 animation, and the narration by Mason is perfect. Poe has always freaked me out more than pretty much any other suspense/terror writer.

This is an amazing short movie. Never seen it before.

The feel is very modern. Stange, I wouldn't have thought it for a 1953 film... Ah! It's funny how one always thinks they belong to the first modern generation!

I love Poe.

Another American writer I love and who wrote fantastic and eery short-stories is Ambrose Bierce. "The Boarded Window" always makes me shudder.
