Gorgeous 1953 animation, and the narration by Mason is perfect. Poe has always freaked me out more than pretty much any other suspense/terror writer.

Rabbit - animated short by Run Wrake


A strange surrealist tale about greed. Quite imaginative in a Goreyesque way, with more than a little influence of Magritte and Dali.


Warning: If you're squeamish, you might want to give it a pass, though I find it disturbing more for the aforementioned surrealism than for the two or three dead critters. Oh and there are bugs. Lots of bugs.

Remember though, it's an animation, not live action. The art is of the old-picture-book-clippings sort, kind of like Terry Gilliam's work with Monty Python.
