More on the Rakshi Gift Project

First of all, we are very near our goal. With the pledges that have been made so far, we're all set. Really, the outpouring of love and generosity has been just incredible to see. I'm blown away by it all. It really gives me hope for all lifekind, you know?
Next - and this is really amazing -
It looks like I'm going to Sean's booksigning event...in Arlington, Virginia!. It was decided on the Yahoo group that the very best thing would be for Rakshi to get the statue at the booksigning she's attending, so Sean could sign it for her right there. shoesparks offered to fly me out there so I could give her the gift in person!! To quote Hewell Houser, "Isn't that amazing?" So it looks like
This whole project is just the most amazing experience for me. It's so wonderful to see how enthusiastic people have been, how supportive and involved, and how much affection comes out of people, and willingness to help. It'll be so exciting to get to meet Rakshi, and all the great people who'll be there, and to get to present this gift myself. It's all just so cool.
And besides,
I'm speechless. Really. (Yeah, yeah, I know - all evidence to the contrary.) I just hope I don't turn into a complete ninny and burst into tears when I meet him. I'd just die from embarrassment! Just have to remember to breathe, I guess.
This fandom really rocks sometimes.
