Humble thanks

.
Some kind soul in Italy - whose name I do not recognize - sent me a very generous gift today. Whoever you are, thank you SO SO much. You've enabled me to keep my lights on for another month, and maybe start putting away a little money for a new pair of glasses. (Haven't had a new pair since 2005, and I'm squinting a lot these days.) *BIG HUG*

I suppose this is as good a place as any to talk about something I haven't yet - goals. In selling my items, I'm reaching for a goal of $500 this holiday season, which will pay my bills through the winter, when energy rates get so high. It will also enable me to put aside whatever other money I can get hold of in other ways, towards some things I've had to put off for a long while (like those glasses). Because of the interest and generosity of my friends here, I'm well on the way to making that goal, so I'm terribly grateful, and thankful to have such kind and wonderful friends. (I hope to make my goal soon, either here or at eBay.) Love to all of you!

'Night!

I just realized that I never answered your other message! I am still interested in some of the comics, as long as they have Frodo in them, I'm game! Just send me how much they are and postage and I will paypal you and send you my addy! ;) I know someone else was interested in some of them, so I don't need all, maybe just a few(?)

Okay! I've removed the pics for the ones that have been bought, so I'll look through the ones that are left and reply to you over there to tell you which ones have Frodo in them. (Almost all of them, really.) Then you can tell me which ones you'd like, and I'll get them out to you. Thanks, sweetie!

This makes me happier than I can say. Bless the generous person in Italy, and our community here.

It is wonderful to have friends out there, isn't it? Especially when one's circumstances leave you feeling isolated and helpless. I've gotten teary more than once over the last couple of days, because I don't really have friends in real life anymore, so I often feel like I'm in a hole I'll never get out of. Aside from the children, the only in my family who seems to really like me is my brother-in-law; the rest of my family just kinda puts up with me. (Thank the gods for the little ones, who more than once have been the reason I've kept going.) It can get hard when there's no one around to just hang out with and enjoy a good time. But being part of this community makes me feel I'm not alone, and that is a real blessing.

I'm so glad for you!

We're tight down here too. Scott's still out of work, and I can't work. We're working on slowly starting our own biz, but gosh, yeah. It's tough.
