Okay, that's it...

Medieval Land Fun-Time World
A Bad Lip Reading of Game of Thrones

...I'll never be able to take GoT seriously now.

Have you seen these things? Seriously, you have to check them out. I have no frigging clue why they make me laugh as hard as they do, but I'm wiped out every time I see one.

Oh, god, the voices they used for Joffrey and Dany slayed me. This is hysterical.

Other than knowing Sean Bean gets killed (and how is that any kind of spoiler?), I have no reference points for this video at all, and yet I can't stop laughing at it. That's the genius of these things - you don't have to know what they're about. Just watching Peter Dinklage bitchslap that kid has me rofling. Jesus, that guy has smartass carved into his face, I swear.

Peter is great in this show. He won an Emmy and has been nominated several times. Watching him slap Joffrey was one of the wonderful moments he's had. Everyone cheered him. Joffrey is a sociopath and a sadist, and becomes King at the age of fourteen. I think there were fan parties when he was finally offed.

Peter also won a Golden Globe that year and definitely deserved both.

I've loved him ever since his first role in Living In Oblivion, where he played Tito, the World's Angriest Dwarf. Jesus, he slayed me in that film - he stole the damn movie, even though he was only in it for about five minutes. I knew he was going to be a star, it was obvious.

I've seen at least 20 of these and I'm always amazed at how perfectly they're lip-synched. This one is especially good. .

Wow, that's.....really funny in a very odd way.
I don't know much about GoT, except what's now in the realm of general knowledge, And not much about this Bad Lip Syncing stuff. Do they do anything CGI to the lip movements to match the words they are saying? Because they look perfect: or is that the power of suggestion (I see what I hear)? If not, I'm really curious to know what the original lines were.

[identity profile] serai1.livejournal.com 2015-08-20 03:24 am (UTC)(link)
Nope. That's their genius. You don't have to mess with the footage. Lip movements can be uncannily similar on different words - it's why lip-reading takes a lot of effort to learn. These guys started out doing political vids and have branched out. It's fucking hilarious. The idea of making Westeros a tacky Medieval Times theme park is so...I just can't even.

And I've never even seen the show.

I love these. And the bad lip-sync series. And the 'honest trailers'. Youtube is brilliant at revealing the genius of those with too much time on their hands.

Hey, darling, are you still out there?

[identity profile] gabi-fics.livejournal.com 2016-05-12 11:59 am (UTC)(link)
I am, im just ridiculously busy. Im coming to the moot in MD at the end of May though if you're coming.

Oh, glad to see you! * sigh * No, I'm dirt poor and unable to do anything, really. I wish I could go, though. Maybe we can have one out here in SoCal someday? Maybe next year? I so want to meet all of you!
