Well, that was unpleasant.
About 3:00 this morning, I FINALLY got the problem sorted out, no thanks to LJ. Their system was not sending out any emails at all for a while there, so it was impossible to obey their validation instructions. I switched emails to Gmail, nothing. I switched back to Yahoo, nothing. Back to Gmail again. JESUS. Finally, somewhere around 2 or so, their system started sending out emails, at least to MY account. Then it took me a while to FIND the damn validation email. I had requested one six or seven times, using different browsers, and after shutting down and rebooting, etc. Only one of them showed up, the one I apparently requested after the email glitch over there stopped glitching. It was hidden in a particular folder I wouldn't have looked in. How did I know that? Someone at LJ provided that answer to a user FIVE WEEKS AGO. They haven't said that to anyone else with this problem since (and there were quite a few people in the queue with it, even more if it's a common complaint among all those requests written in RUSSIAN), so since then, no one has gotten the answer they needed in order to deal with this.
If you were working on a help line, and you had a piece of important information that would help customers with a problem a lot of them are having, wouldn't you let your supervisor or whoever else know about it? So other people could provide the same answer?
And LJ wonders why people take off for other sites. I swear.
