Gacked from [livejournal.com profile] shirebound. Seems [livejournal.com profile] baranduin is asking for music videos. Here's a fun one from way back:

Safety Dance - Men Without Hats

I was steeped in the RenFaire during the 80's, so you know I loved this video!

Yes! Got to love '80s videos.
Have you seen the literal video version? Cracks me up as well. :)

I really miss 80's videos. They were so cheerfully weird and goofy and crazy. People threw anything and everything into their videos. Remember Billy Idol's "Dancing With Myself"? What the hell do the living dead have to do with that song? NOTHING, AHAHA! Loved it.

Hah! Totally - it was this new art form that no one had rules for, so they went delightfully weird in all kinds of ways. I recently saw the "Total Eclipse of the Heart" video again, with the bizarre teacher-at-a-boys'-school "plot," and it was quite full of WTF. :D

Remember the dwarves? Every freaking video had a dwarf somewhere in it. It was nuts! (I sincerely believe that was the genesis of the magnificent tantrum thrown by Tito, the World's Angriest Dwarf, in Living in Oblivion. Peter Dinklage's first memorable role, and he stole the whole goddamn movie with that rant.)

Here it is!

I saw that and thought, "Oh yeah, that guy's gonna go places."

OMG, yes! That was awesome! LOL. "*I* don't have dreams with dwarves in them!"
I adore Peter Dinklage. Been fabulous in every role so far.

Love that song, but I'd never seen the video. (MTV was after my time).

I remember the song well, but I don't think I ever saw the video before. That was indeed fun!
