Tara the DW fangirl came by in her enormous blue truck and whisked my darling harp away to a life in sunny, warm Santa Fe, NM. She was in a hurry due to having snuck away from the convention where a friend was manning her booth, so we didn't have much time, but she has promised to call me later so we can exchange contact info. She's very nice, and I am so, so happy my harp now has a loving home where she will be fondled and played with for years to come. (You know, the main reason I've known for a while that she wasn't really mine is the fact that I never named her. She just never told me her name. I guess she knew her real mom was still out there!)

*sigh* Another chapter of my life ended. A happy ending, to be sure, but I did get a little teary after they left.

Goodbye, my love. I hope you're happy and loved for decades, if not centuries, to come...


We'll be going to the dispensary to get Javi's payment later tonight. I, on the other hand, have decided to clean out my body. No weed for at least a month, as well as vegetarian food only, and mostly seltzer water to drink (with an occasional ginger brew because fuck me, I love that stuff). Whatever that shit the other night was, it was a wake-up call. Time to clean out. I'll toss the weed I have in the freezer, and try a little again in a month to see where I am with that.

Thank you, hon! It's so great to be able to breathe a sigh of relief, even if only for a little while. With a little discipline, this money will help clear up some things sorely needed. For instance, I really need to take my pooter in to the shop and get the hard drive switched out. I'll be able to do that this week, finally. There's an excellent place close to home I've been going to for years, and they always give me great service at excellent prices. (*snorfle* that sounded dirtier than I intended) Some other stuff, too, including (if it's within affordability) a home baking license so I can sell my cookies and such.

It's so nice to see a picture of you. Have you had the harp a long time? It's very pretty and I'm sure she'll like her new home. I've always wished I could play the harp, but I only play keyboard instruments.

I would have had that harp for thirty years this coming May. I had such dreams of playing the harp. Turned out my musical talents lie elsewhere. :)

Oh boy! I just spent an hour at the Triplett website watching videos of how the harps are made and examples of how they sound. Their website is gorgeous. Naturally the harp I liked best cost over five thousand dollars. eek! I guess I'll have to be satisfied with playing the piano and organ. They are gorgeous instruments though, I must say that.

Yeah, they're pricey. Mine was more or less a beginner's harp, three octaves, and it cost me around $800, and that was back in the 80's. I have no idea how much they'd charge for one like it now.

The "children's harp", 22 strings and the least expensive one they offer, is $1,295 plus $395 shipping so that should give you some indication of what yours would cost now. A three-octave harp would be a 28-string model. Their 30-string harps (the most popular) are all over $4,000.

THIS MODEL (http://triplettharps.com/shanti-28.php) is the only 28-string harp they currently sell. Ebay has a Sam and Bill statue selling for a starting $649 starting bid.

LOL, I'm not thinking about selling that statue, but I'd certainly ask more than $1K for it. I paid $750 for it, and it's in mint condition. (Never taken it out of the box because I've never yet had a spot to put it that I trusted to be safe enough.) I'd start it at $2K, at least.

She seems an excellent person. I wish we'd had a little more time to hang out, but I'm very happy with how things turned out. And the other lady never called back, so I guess it was meant to be. :)
