To all of you running around trying to find a copy of that LIFE magazine supplement that Elijah's in, just go over to eBay. There's a bunch of copies for sale on there. I picked one up as soon as I started seeing the posts about it this morning.
That's, like, always the first thing I do when I see these kinds of posts around. If it's a mag I can't get in L.A. (not that likely, considering all the huge newsstands we have here, but it happens sometimes), I can get one over there. Yeah, the prices can be a bit high, but you'd be surprised at how low they can be, especially if you hit eBay right away, as soon as people start talking about it. The longer you wait, the more people will be bidding and the higher the starting prices will be. That's because sellers will jack up the start price if they see that a lot of people want the item.
Example, I got my LIFE mag this morning for $7 - $5 for the mag and $2 for shipping. That's a very good price, especially for a mag that can't be bought on the newsstands even if I did live in Chicago. I'll bet you that by tomorrow, the start prices will have gone up to $10 or more. Get in early and you can get some good bargains.
That's my Word Of Advice for the day. Carry on!
