My legs hurt. Not the whole leg, just the skin. Spike dragged me out of the house yesterday and we drove up to Malibu with the Spikelet. First time out in the sun for a while. Spike said I was starting to look like Tom Anderson, needed to unplug a little. Well, I ain't white no more. At least not where the sun hit me. I've got a dumb tan line, but it was worth it.

Had a very entertaining argument with a seagull who was edging up to us with the awkward nonchalance of a teenager trying to get his arm around his girl in a dark moviehouse. Sorry, bud, no pickings here. The Spikelet laughed a lot and let me carry her around, played games with me. It's cool when a baby decides she approves of you - makes me feel there's hope for me yet.

It's amazing the things salt sea air will do for your energy.
