I took something like that quiz a while back and got results pretty similar to yours. Guess I'll have to come up with an explanation pretty soon as to why we put up a Christmas tree, for when my son gets old enough to ask... :)

Decorating trees for Solstice predates Christian influence, if I remember correctly. You can tell him you're lighting the way for the Sun to return. :)

I like that idea. I figure I'll explain that the Christian tradition merged with many a pagan solstice tradition, and basically it's an excuse to give presents and eat pie.

That reminds me, I actually looked up Christmas tree origins one year. Seems the greenery tradition is pagan enough, but the actual decorated tree was more Christian than I thought. Still, close enough!
