It's certainly more accurate than the version I did about three years ago.

(There ought to be an option for one who reveres the Valar, eh?)

What would one call that? Is there a name for followers of that religion? (Gah, I can imagine the Professor spinning in his grave as I ask.)

In Middle Earth, yeah. What would we call it here?

Hmph. It's a poser, and no mistake. I can only come up with "Valarians", and that sounds like some race of scantily-clad aliens from ST:TOS.

Vardans? Manwists? Neither of those work, either.

I don't think it's got a name. Yeah, Tolkien would be shocked to hear that.

Heh. His elderly self would be horrified. But his younger self, the one who originated the stores could probably come up with an answer easily.

I took something like that quiz a while back and got results pretty similar to yours. Guess I'll have to come up with an explanation pretty soon as to why we put up a Christmas tree, for when my son gets old enough to ask... :)

Decorating trees for Solstice predates Christian influence, if I remember correctly. You can tell him you're lighting the way for the Sun to return. :)

I like that idea. I figure I'll explain that the Christian tradition merged with many a pagan solstice tradition, and basically it's an excuse to give presents and eat pie.

That reminds me, I actually looked up Christmas tree origins one year. Seems the greenery tradition is pagan enough, but the actual decorated tree was more Christian than I thought. Still, close enough!

Well, considering how many year traditions were ripped off by Christianity, I figure we can take something too. After all, just about every Christian I know still scratches her head about the bunnies and eggs at Easter, LOL!

Btw, I've been meaning to point this out to you: someone thinks you sound sexeh. :D

*grin* Thanks! Pagan me will never accept the whitewash that Tolkien put on his stories later in his life. I know a viable pantheon when I see it!

You're welcome! Are you still taking members for that NZ-trip comm? I can't imagine being able to afford it, but you never know what might happen...
