Very cool clips. We've been discussing that asteroid--freaky crap. Sagan hadn't just made the suggestion of deflecting such things, however, he'd actually brought up the idea of harvesting them into our orbit to mine. Crazy mofo, lol, like Jon here says--love it!

Yup, as I said, that's my next book. I also have his 'Death by Black Hole', but Pluto's coming first.

Don't know if you've read it, but if you'd like to get into some seriously nutty, lovely blue-sky theorizing, check out Carl's The Dragons of Eden. He wrote it back in the 70's when he and Lynn Margolis were smoking lots of weed and coming up with crazy ideas about the origins of intelligence and whatnot. It's a rollercoaster!
