Orlando Bloom is yummy. No, seriously - he's a babe and a half. It took me a while to realize this, since in my opinion, that blond elfy hair just does not suit him at all. He is far, far more enticing with his own dark coloring.

Now, Troy looks to me to be a wonderfully wanky cheesefest (Brad Pitt as Achilles? Please!), but I'm definitely not going to miss it, if for nothing else for the sight of Orlando in those long dark curls and that made-for-undoing leather armor and silk chitons and that hot-to-the-touch tan...*sweats profusely*

*ahem* Where was I? Oh yeah...I saw this pic today and have spent more time than I would have thought mesmerized by it. And got inspired to make this wallpaper, to commemorate pretty Paris and his bratty IwantIwantIwant tantrum undying eternal stalker obsession true love.

The text is by H.D., a poetess whose writing was heavily inspired by the ancient Greeks, including Homer and Sappho. In this verse, she describes Paris's first glimpse of Helen on the battlements of Troy, the woman given to him by the Goddess of Love.

I'm with you on not finding him yummy as Legolas, although he was apparently yummy enough to enough people that a relatively minor role rocketed him to matinee idol superstardom in a way that did not happen to, say, Dom or Billy. I don't go in for blond men.

I'm with you on Troy being a total cheesefest that I am going to watch anyway.

I don't know if I'm with you on Orlando being totally shaggable as Paris, although I have seen pictures of him as Paris that made him look so. As Will Turner, however, he definitely has that certain something.

Well, Paris was a fuckwad, no matter which way you look at it. I never liked him much, and from what I hear, he's not meant to be likable in this film, either. But that don't mean I won't find him hunk material - he looks like a classic Himbo, to be honest. Young and pretty and fuckable and dumb as a post. Yep, I sure don't want him for his conversation.

Every now and then a blond'll get me going, and I used to prefer them when I was younger. Not so much anymore, or at least at this period of time. Maybe later I'll get back into them. But Legolas? Eh. He was certainly athletic and graceful, and that does impress me, being brought up in a dance family. It's really too bad that PJ felt he had to make Legolas a blond, 'cause I expected him to be dark-haired and dark-eyed. Now that would've made me supremely hot and happy. *sigh*

Ah well, as Stephen Wright says, You can't have everything - where would you put it? ;)

Oh, yes, I'm much more enamored of the dark-haired elves. I think it says something that I find Elrond hotter than Legolas. And, IIRC, Legolas is dark-haired in the book. If we had had a dark-haired Legolas in the movie, even if or perhaps especially if it had been Orlando, I might have been far too distracted to notice the hobbits (which would have been a shame, I think). As for young and pretty and fuckable and dumb as a post, yup, that's Orlando.
