I've posted two interesting little collectible items at my selling post. They're a small metal penny bank and pencil holder. I got them at ORC back in the day, and they're really cute. The bank is a Legolas item, and the pencil holder is Legolas & Gimli (or Legolas/Gimli, if that's your idea of a good time.)

I am listening to an audiobook of Robert Heinlein's Stranger in a Stranger Land. I swear, if there is a role other than Frodo that could have been written for Elijah, it's Valentine Michael Smith, the Man from Mars. It would be the perfect marriage of character and actor.

In other news, I'm feeling not quite so crapped out today, although I've probably exhausted myself working on, uh, things, and will end up pretty sick again. Up and down, such is life.

Orlando Bloom is yummy. No, seriously - he's a babe and a half. It took me a while to realize this, since in my opinion, that blond elfy hair just does not suit him at all. He is far, far more enticing with his own dark coloring.

Now, Troy looks to me to be a wonderfully wanky cheesefest (Brad Pitt as Achilles? Please!), but I'm definitely not going to miss it, if for nothing else for the sight of Orlando in those long dark curls and that made-for-undoing leather armor and silk chitons and that hot-to-the-touch tan...*sweats profusely*

*ahem* Where was I? Oh yeah...I saw this pic today and have spent more time than I would have thought mesmerized by it. And got inspired to make this wallpaper, to commemorate pretty Paris and his bratty IwantIwantIwant tantrum undying eternal stalker obsession true love.

The text is by H.D., a poetess whose writing was heavily inspired by the ancient Greeks, including Homer and Sappho. In this verse, she describes Paris's first glimpse of Helen on the battlements of Troy, the woman given to him by the Goddess of Love.

Just went to see POTC. What a rollicking good time! Loved it. Not necessarily a good movie, but definitely an enjoyable movie.

And oh, the babe factor! Orli's a cutey pie, but Depp is sex on wheels, let me tell you. What a hunk of manflesh. And my dears, the slash potential! I foresee a whole new fandom.
