Galileo and Copernicus stumble out of a bar early one weekday morning.

Galileo says,"Oh my God, the sun's coming up."

Copernicus says, "We are so screwed".

Rene Descartes walks into a bar.

The bartender asks, "Would you like a beer?"

Descartes answers, "I think not." And promptly disappears.

Delightfully nerdy!

I wish Galileo and Copernicus had been contemporaries and friends. We need more mismatched, wacky astronomer duos like Tycho and Kepler.

Or with Tycho and Kepler, an Odd Couple buddy comedy, and you don't even have to leave the Uraniborg to do it:

"Kepler is a dour Lutheran who can barely support himself or keep his mom from being accused of witchcraft. Tycho is a wine-swilling rich boy who loves to party! When these two team up to discovery the laws of planetary motion--anything can happen!"

And because I always have to name-drop any time Tycho comes up: I was fencing partners in college with one of his descendants. She was an excellent mathematician and a party girl who liked to wear velvet pants. it was awesome.
